Il PDF esiste per un motivo: un file Word non si vede uguale su due macchine. I caratteri vengono sostituiti, i margini si riorganizzano e un'impaginazione che era giusta dove è stata scritta arriva altrove leggermente sbagliata. Convertire in PDF fissa la pagina: chi la apre vede quello che hai visto tu, con qualsiasi programma.
Questi convertitori prendono i formati che le persone si mandano davvero e ne scrivono un PDF dentro la scheda del browser. Non c'è una fase di caricamento, e qui questo conta più che altrove: le cose che vale la pena convertire in PDF sono contratti, fatture, buste paga e lavori universitari, e nessuno di questi ha bisogno di lasciare una copia sul server di qualcun altro per diventare un PDF.

Will the PDF look exactly like the original?
Close, and for most documents indistinguishable. The gap is fonts: if a document uses a typeface your browser cannot load, the converter substitutes the nearest match and line breaks can shift by a word. Documents built on common faces convert exactly; heavily designed ones are worth a glance before you send them.
Is there a file size limit?
None that we impose. The ceiling is your own device's memory, because the work happens there rather than on a server with a quota — a laptop handles a few hundred pages comfortably and a phone rather less. Nothing counts against a daily allowance, because there is no allowance.
Can I convert several files at once?
Most of these take a batch and give back one PDF per input. Images are the exception, and the useful one: JPG to PDF collects everything you drop into a single document in the order you arrange them, which is usually what you wanted from a folder of scans.
