La mayoría de los problemas con un PDF no son problemas de contenido. Los capítulos llegaron en cuatro archivos distintos, el escáner metió la página siete de lado, el informe lleva un anexo que nadie de fuera de la empresa debería ver. Nada de eso necesita un editor: necesita mover las páginas de sitio.
Todas las herramientas de aquí trabajan a nivel de página, y eso tiene una propiedad que conviene conocer: las páginas se copian entre documentos en lugar de volver a renderizarse. El texto sigue siendo seleccionable, las imágenes conservan su resolución original y un archivo que se ha unido, dividido y reordenado cuatro veces está exactamente igual de nítido que el de partida. La pérdida de calidad no es un mecanismo que estas herramientas tengan.

Does rearranging pages reduce quality?
No — and not approximately, literally. The page objects are copied from one document into another untouched, so nothing is re-compressed and nothing is redrawn. This is the practical difference between page-level work and anything that touches images.
Can I merge PDFs with different page sizes?
Yes. Each page keeps its own dimensions, so an A4 report with a US Letter attachment merges without either being stretched to match. It looks slightly uneven scrolling on screen and prints correctly, which is the right way round.
What is the difference between splitting and extracting?
Splitting divides one document into several and keeps everything. Extracting pulls out only the pages you name and discards the rest. Use split for chapters; use extract when you need three pages out of a sixty-page contract.
